Bonnie Wright
Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 is an English actress. She is also a model, director, activist as well as an actress. Her most well-known character is that of Ginny Weasley as the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for 10 years before she was selected to appear as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). After the Harry Potter series, Wright appeared in a series of independent films including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014) which were met with mixed reviews. She made her stage debut as the lead actress in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate diploma in filmmaking. The following year, she founded her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began to make short films. The first film she directed was the coming of age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to high reviews. She also directed Know Thyself (2016), that starred Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotional and landscape. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She has directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright has been a spokesperson for Greenpeace and Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
