  Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Her debut film role came in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) and was followed by three TV shows: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts was a failed actor when she first came to the United States. She acted in small-scale films and eventually became an actress. Her fame grew internationally by playing the role. Watts was then cast as a depressed journalist in the remake of The Ring (2002). For her portrayal of a grieving mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Watts continued to climb in the spotlight with her performances in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King Kong (2005) as well as Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009).
