Stevens West (born September 7, 1986) is an American actress from the United
States. She is best known for her role as Ashleigh Howard on the ABC Family
series Greek (2007-2011), Maxine in the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show
(2015-2017), and Claire Davis in the CBS comedy Happy Together (2018-2019). She
was also in Jessabelle (2014), 22 Jump Street (2014), and The Amazing
Spider-Man 2012. She played the lead role of Maya in the comedy film Love
Jacked. Stevens West was born Amber Dawn Stevens, Los Angeles, California. She
is the daughter of Shadoe Stevens, a former model and radio announcer, and
Beverly Cunningham. She has one younger sister, Chyna, and an older
half-brother from the paternal side, Brad. Stevens is a mixed race because the
birth parents were the family of a Caucasian father and an African-American
mother who was also Comanche. Stevens West is a Beverly Hills High School
graduate. Her early career saw she was featured in TV commercials for Old Navy
Verizon, Logitech and Neutrogena. In 2005, she made her TV acting debut on
Complete Savages. Stevens West started playing Ashleigh Howard on the ABC
Family comedy-drama TV series Greek in 2007. In a critique released shortly
after the premiere of the show that year, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette called
the show "light-hearted fun" and "authentic" while The New
York Times claimed that Greek "captures the spirit of the hedge fund age
unlike anything else." The series ended with four seasons on the 7th of
March, 2011.She has appeared in films The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
(2006), Fired Up (2009), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Kitchen (2012) and
Jessabelle (2014).
