Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born September 5 1973) is an American actress and
activist. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992), and was
nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her performance
in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakthrough came in the
film horror Scream (1996) and later played the lead role in the film Going All
the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan's
performance as Paige Matthews on the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006)
was her most famous role. Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film
Grindhouse (2006) and in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress as
well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. The album she released her debut
album on, Planet 9, was released in the year of 2018. The album was followed up
by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as one of the
Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year in 2017. She spoke out
about harassment and sexual assault particularly the Harvey Weinstein sexual
abuse cases. McGowan has published her memoir, Brave, and starred in the
documentary series Citizen Rose, which consists of four parts. Citizen Rose,
both in 2018.
